Location: Bull Arm, Newfoundland CANADA

In my 3rd internship I worked in the Mechanical Outfitting Department on the Hebron Project. I was responsible for assisting field engineers in the installation department. Tasks included but not limited to; analyzing technical drawings and following site instructions, creating site queries and revising the work done with the Quality Department. I was also tasked with communicating between the project managers, field workers, and subcontractors.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Worked with mechanical structural outfitting for construction completion of the Gravity Based Structure (GBS) of the Hebron Project.

  • Completed “As Built” drawings and equipment specifications.

  • Assisted in creating cost estimates, plans, and schedules.

  • Analyzed and proposed solutions for difficulties presented in the field by creating Site Queries and following Site Instructions.

  • Created and updated cost tracking spreadsheets for analyzing costs and man-hours spent; calculated performance factors.

  • Served as communication component between labour and upper engineering management and also represented MO at interdepartmental meetings.

  • Organized site orientations and Job Hazards Analysis (JHAs) for new employees

  • Inspected field progress and updated drawings accordingly.
